About Us

Hotel Hirtshalsis is situated at the harbor overlooking the marina and fishing port.

Color Line's terminal is within walking distance of the hotel. Smyril Line and Fjord Line are in close vicinity.

Hirtshals's beautiful beach is situated a mere few hundred meters from the hotel and from here Hirtshals Lighthouse is only a short walk away, well worth a visit for the wonderful views of the surrounding area.

The North Sea Museum is a pleasant 10 - 12 minute work for the hotel.

The famous Hirtshals Kro (Est. 1769), which is adjoined and owned by Hotel Hirtshals, has for the last 250 years held many of the towns large and small events. Hirtshals Kro consists of Hirtshals Kro's Pub, open almost all year round, and Hirtshals Kro's Restaurant, which is open from Easter until winter, and serves a wide selection of fish and meat dishes.

It was at Hirtshals Kro, the famous local artist Lars Nielsen spent most of his time between the great wars, taking every opportunity to caricature and draw many of the locals and dignitaries.

The Kro had a large collection of these drawings and caricatures, which the public can come and see. Try our local Bjesk whilst doing so, a local and famous bitter, which has been made in the area for many years.
